Transformers Mega Power Bots – Jet Power Optimus Prime Reviews:

I have been looking for an Optimus Prime that talks frequently – this Prime does that and more – he does transform in the fact that when you push his gold emblem down in the middle, his wings will flip out to the side (thanks Jetfire, awww ^_^), and light up, follwed by Jet sounds, and he’ll talk as well. His eyes light up too, as well as his cannon. He also continues to talk as you fly him around – Kids will love this, for the fact that he makes air jet sounds, and talks – he even has a handle that you can hold him with while he flies around the room, and will continue to talk until you land him. And when he lands he also talks. When you want to ‘deploy’ or push in his wings, he also alerts you by making a transforming sound. Optimus is very alert. Love this figure. Peter does his voice for this figure too, it’s super cute! Found it at Wally World for a Roll-back price ^_^. He fits in perfectly with my Autobot collection! I’m 28 years old, and find myself flying this toy around like I’m a little kid again.
I gotta tell you- this Optimus Prime Power Bot is really cool. When I received it I wanted to take it out of the packaging and play with it before wrapping it up for Christmas! Great sound effects that are clear and easy to understand (and as with all toys that make sounds I am sure will get annoying after a while). This isn’t a “transforming” bot but it is positionable. Looks durable so far but haven’t had it that long so I really can’t make any comments on long-term durability but will update this review if that changes. The eyes light up, the jets light up, and I got to tell you this toy is sweet! It even comes with it’s own batteries! (3 AAA’s) While having the toy come with batteries or not isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, it does make gift giving and immediate usability much easier for everyone.

3/15 Update: I gave this toy to a 4 year old boy for Christmas and he has held up! Wings still pop out, he still lights up and makes sounds (although batteries are starting to get low I’m sure) and has held up to a lot of rough play over the past 3+ months! Quickly became the boy’s favorite toy. I know 3 months doesn’t sound long but for all the throwing and physical bashing this toy has received I was pretty impressed!

My son got 21 different Transformers for Christmas and this was one of the easier ones to transform. My son is only 6, so my husband and I have been transforming them for him until he can learn how to do it himself. We have never transformed Transformers before, and I was able to easily transform this Ultimate Bumblebee in about a half an hour the first time. It is MUCH sturdier than any of the other other Transformers he got (which were all level 3 & 4) and the instructions were very easy to understand for me. I gave up on a lot of the other Transformers and had my husband figure them out. The sounds and lights are AWESOME compared to the sounds the other Transformers make. I am used to buying toys that don’t break like Step 2 and Little Tikes, so I was a little skeptical of buying Transformers. I think this toy will outlast all of the other Transformers we bought.
What a great toy. Now my boys 6 and 8 cannot quite get the hang of transforming it so I have to do it. I had great satisfaction in getting the final piece snapped in and watching the boys roll him around on the floor. I found it much easier to transform him on my own without the instructions. Just study the robot for a little while. Look at the car body parts and imagine where they properly go. The only tricky part is the rear wheels you have to pull and twist them around, they are spring loaded. This toy does make you think while you move the parts around and picture the proper locations which is why I gave it 4 stars for educational value. He makes fun sounds both in robot form and car form. I am glad I bought this toy, got it during a lightning round but it is sturdy and well worth the full price.

An Enjoyable, Challenging Assembly
Devastator might be one of the biggest transformers around, but it’s also one of the most difficult to put together. Parents should be aware that the Devastator requires some degree of finesse to assemble — and in some cases, strength. Some of the snapping parts are especially tricky to connect together, and prove difficult to pry apart. The toy is labeled as a Level 4 conversion, so younger children will have difficulty converting the toy by themselves. It took our tester (an experienced Transformer player) nearly 15 minutes to figure everything out. Still, putting the toy together should provide a constructive challenge for older kids.

Transformers Movie 2 Combiner – Construction Devastator Reviews:

I bought this as a birthday present for my nephew (10 years old), and he absolutely loves Devastator. I can’t blame him, either. Everything about Devastor is solid: Construction of the toys, the sound samples (in robot mode), the posibility and playablity of each vehicle, both on their own and when combined together. There’s enough room in the mouth (which will open wide when pushing/holding down a button) to stuff smaller autobots in there to meet their maker.

The only knocks against Devastator are the lack of paint details and Mixmaster – the cement mixer. In truck mode, he does not stop making noise. There’s some sort of motion/light/vibration sensor on him. A simple touch will send him into a frenzy of noises that gets old fast. Be prepared to set aside about 15 minutes or so removing Devastator from all of those dreaded twist-ties, also.

Overall, a bang up job by Hasbro. Just about anyone with an interest in Transformers will love this monstrosity!
I bought this for my husband for Christmas, but couldn’t wait to give it to him… He has it up on a shelf in his “man room” and it looks awesome! You can press a button on the toys’ chest and it talks, but the one I bought has a tendency to talk when ever it feels like it! (which is hilarious!!!) The price was average but I’d pay it again!

For a while now many movie toys have lacked a key component of what makes transformers so special. This is play value. It is a simple concept that makes a person just plain enjoy his/her transforming robots. Jetfire has this in spades! In either mode he is very nice as an SR-71 Blackbird or as an angry old man with a Gatling gun on his arm. This figure exudes pure fun. Then there is the combined mode. Wow. If you have this guy do yourself a favor and pick up leader Prime. I 100% guarantee that you will become a Jetfire fan overnight when you see the towering figure that is the combined Optimus+Jetfire Super mode!!!! The toy is just so versatile that you really should stop reading this review and pick one up for yourself!
I am writing this for my 10 year old son; these are his words:
When I opened the box, I was happy to see that it was here. I was really surprised how big this item was. It’s huge! It is a little difficult to transform back into a jet, but it is worth the work. There are two parts that go over the head and snap together to connect, and then hook into a back slot that is a little difficult when you are a beginner.
There is a difficult part when you attach Jetfire to Optimus Prime, you have to take his stomach off of his back and bring it down and then take a hook and connect it to Optimus’ groin area. It can be hard to pop it on.
But overall, it is a great toy. When he and Optimus are together, it looks awesome and ready to fight The Fallen.
I would recommend this for others to buy.

I bought this toy for my six years old boy (Camilo) on September 24th and even after a week of usage, he would not believe such a great quality on details. This toys is completely similar to the Optimus Prime character form ROTF movie. Face, legs, hands, sword, chest, movie sounds, painted flames become a part of a masterpiece of modern technology art. However the “user guide” to transforms from robot to truck is a trully deception. It’s design and quality product contrast with the complexity to trasform to truck and returning back. I needed more than hour to transform it to Truck by the first time and viceversa. Obviously it is NOT a toy for “Ages 5+” as printe on the box; although its superior quality (not even compared with chinese copies). You should NOT buy this toy if the final user is a “heavy-hands-boy” or you will not spend time enought to the first five transformations. In the other hand, it’s product quality is a clear invitation complete the entire collection. You can bet, I will buy all toys as soon as I can.
As many have stated in their reviews, this Leader Prime is notoriously difficult to transform for the first time. However, I have quickly mastered it with minimal practice.
There are only a few things I want to warn interested consumers about with this toy. The durability of some of the parts can be questionable. The red chest pieces have to be almost wrestled out of their slots to transform. They are frighteningly small and I fear that they may be prone to breakage if not handled cautiously when you are removing them. Also, the large blue sleeper panels have a pretty solid attachment when he is in truck mode. I am nervous about breaking the panels as I disconnect them. The pegs that allow the panels to split and pivot to form his shoulder blades are plastic, so you must be careful especially when disconnecting the panels from truck mode and folding them up to make his shoulder blades.

Other than that, you may just want to mind the paint! The panels that cover the front ‘nose’ of Prime’s semi mode, fold in on themselves and cover part of his swords and I have noticed after regular usage, that some areas where the sword contacts the panel, the paint has been slightly damaged, although this is merely cosmetic.
I have also taken the pleasure of repainting him… I am a stickler for detail and there are some color errors that I had to fix. [...]
